My Column: State Line Hawk Watch
A view of State Line Lookout and the Hudson River beyond in Alpine. By Jim WrightSpecial to The Record |…
Nature Photographer Walt Staab has been on a roll. This month he did a DDT raptor trifecta, getting photos of a Peregrine Falcon, then a Bald Eagle, and then an Osprey.
All three species were endangered by the wanton use of the pesticide DDT in the 20th Century.
Although Walt's Bald Eagles shot from last month were pretty good — especially considering how far away it was — his 2015 Celery Farm Bald Eagle shots, like the one above) were even better.
Here's a gallery of some of Walt's greatest Celery Farm hits, trifect included. Also fan fave Meaty McMeat Goose and a Common Yellow-throat. (Thanks, Walt!)
