That Tricky Swan Takes Flight…
The young Mute Swan that looks a lot like a Tundra Swan, especially when its bill is in the shade, did a little flight around lake Appert on Wednesday, and Walt Staab caught some of the action.
If you look closely, you can sort of see the bill has just a touch of Halloween orange, just like the illustration in Sibley. (Thanks, Walt!)

Yesterday (Saturday) there were 2 immature Mute Swans by the Warden’s Watch.

I saw the young Mute Swan at the CF today. Likely more than one around …

White Pond across by the Waldwick Swim Club?

Thanks for the update. Maybe the meat goose at the CF will join him.

I can tell you where I think it was today around 5 P.M. At that large expanse of water in Waldwick that is like a duck pond there. I forget the name of the park but only Waldwick residents are allowed inside supposedly.
