Allendale’s Famous Chameleon Snake

Allendale resident Stiles Thomas discovered this rare Chameleon snake in his yard recently.

He thought it was a common Wood Snake, as per the photo above.

But when he brought it inside, it changed colors — at least twice!

The third time it blended in so well he couldn't see it.

  • Another means of avoiding detection is to remain motionless, even when lifted and transported.
