Can you or anybody help me with the identification of the bird shown below.
I was at Verona Park in Verona, NJ, last week when I spotted this loon. I've never seen a loon here all the 25 years I've been birding there. What kind of loon is this?

Red-throated Loon for sure. Nice find!
My guess is a pre-breeding red throated loon. We have one at my lake in Sussex county too.
So I was right…it was a white loon! Is it a Common Loon?
