The Big Dead-Fish Clean-Up
A huge thank you to the volunteers who pitched in yesterday to remove all those dead fish from the Celery…
On Monday, I wrote:
John Workman drew this bird on his impressive 2006 Celery Farm Big Year checklist.
John asks, "What bird is it?"
We had several great answers: Diane L. suggested a vireo; Ginny suggested catbird; Alice L. suggested Rusty Blackbird or American Pipit; and Steph Swanzey, the very first to reply, suggested Rusty Blackbird as well.
When John suggested the mystery, I guessed it was some sort of Turdus — thrush.
Who was right?
John Workman, the horse's mouth, says:
I admit the drawing is sort of “Turdy,“ but I was attempting to do a Rusty Blackbird.
Congrats to Steph and Alice!
