In case you're wondering, the Celery Farm Natural Area remains closed.

At present, given the preserve's narrow trails, it would be a public health risk to reopen.

Ultimately, it is the borough of Allendale's decision.

In an ideal world, everyone would act responsibly and respect the need for social distancing.

Sadly, that wasn't the case in the Celery Farm at the beginning of the outbreak, and often still isn't the case elsewhere.

Some people have ignored the "Celery Farm Closed" signs and trespassed. Why would anyone think these folks would respect social-distancing?

It's impractical to have volunteers try to enforce the rules in a world where too many people think it's all about them.

If you'd like to get some fresh air, Crestwood Lake is open in Allendale, and state parks are open as well.
