Massive Fish Die-off @ Celery Farm
A huge thank you to the volunteers who pitched in today to remove all those dead fish from the Celery…
What kind of bird is this, and what was it doing in this place in Piermont, N.Y., recently?
It is a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. I am guessing that, as a nocturnal migrant, it collided with the balcony glass door (guard rail and potted plants camouflaged ultra clean glass door [perfect reflection of chair]) and the woman (manicured nails) picked up the stunned (fortunately, not dead) bird with a towel.
Yellow-billed Cuckoo? Is it in care?
Good looing bird!
Immature black crowned night heron? Hurt and recovering?
It looks like some kind of cuckoo. A look at the tail might help.
