Trying to keep squirrels away from owl boxes and bird feeders is next to impossible. They will always find a way.

The latest case in point is my "100 percent squirrel-proof" feeder.

I found most of it on the ground today.

Turns out that I did not have the lid to the feeder seated properly, and a squirrel got past the baffle, climbed atop the feeder, opened the lid and chewed through two plastic parts until they broke, sending the feeder to the ground.

(Also have a problem with deer eating at the squirrel-proof feeder. Believe me, deer are pigs.)
